The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. and conclude at 3 p.m. A barbecue meal will be served to guests at noon.
Several special guests will be featured during the meeting, including Joshua Yerby, environmental affairs specialist for the Childersburg Rescue Squad; and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Marine Division officer Steven R. MacLeroy.
Members of Alabama Water Watch will also present a water monitoring demonstration. HOBO officials noted those in attendance will witness a bird getting released into the wild by Scottie Jackson from the Alabama Wildlife Center.
Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to take part in numerous events, including catch-and-release fishing and exploring Pioneer Village.
HOBO membership information will also be available.
Pioneer Village is on the Talladega County portion of Lay Lake, across the river from Perkin’s Landing. Those interested may travel by boat, car or shuttle to the event.
Boat shuttle service from Paradise Point Marina will be available beginning at 11 a.m.
