As National Safe Boating Week is an annual occurence, we are preparing for another campaign to spread the message of safe and responsible boating. This year, we will continue to educate the boating community about life jacket wear and the options that are available when it comes to comfortable and lightweight life jackets (Life Jacket Information). We are also working closely with our partner organizations to create a larger grassroots network and create a more consistent campaign message. We are hoping these collaborative efforts will increase awareness about the importance of always wearing life jackets while on the water.

Tournament Setup: Five fish, one dead fish allowed. Big fish pot optional is $10 more per boat (dead fish cannot count as big fish).
All entrees must be ready by 6:00am. Must be in line to weigh in by 2:30pm, teams are disqualified if not in line by 2:30pm.

Rules:
1. Maximum 2 person team per boat
2. Five fish limit, Spots and Largemouth 12” minimum
3. No live bait / No trolling
4. Anyone under the age of 16 must be with an adult.
5. All fishermen must obey all water safety laws.
6. It is up to the participants to be up to date with any Alabama Fishing License requirements.
7. Please respect other fishermen and the space they are fishing in.

National Fishing and Boating Week (NFBW) - A national celebration of fishing and boating. Coinciding with most state's free fishing days, NFBW occurs each year during the first full week of June.

First day of Summer. This day has the longest duration of daylight for the year.

Operation Dry Water is a national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) detection and enforcement aimed at reducing the number of alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities and fostering a stronger and more visible deterrent to alcohol and drug use on the water. Operation Dry Water is held the last weekend in June prior to the Fourth of July holiday. In 2010, marine law enforcement organizations from all 50 states participated and contacted 66,472 boaters and issued 11,693 warnings and citations.
