Operation Dry Water is held the last weekend in June prior to the Fourth of July holiday. In 2010, marine law enforcement organizations from all 50 states participated and contacted 66,472 boaters and issued 11,693 warnings and citations.

The freedoms we value today could only be possible thanks to the men and women of valor who fought – and who continue to fight – to establish and defend the country we call home. As our thanks, we are offering all active military and veterans a ticket to ride the Stars & Stripes Special for FREE when accompanied by at least one other passenger. This offer is available to those who served or who are currently-serving in the United States Military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as members of the Reserves, National Guard, U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, etc. Thank you all for your service. Please provide appropriate ID at the ticket window when picking up your order. In partnership with military services, veteran organizations and reenactors from throughout central Alabama, a variety of exhibits, educational displays and historic war-time campsites will be displayed on the Museum grounds. Actors in time-period costumes will share the history of each era. The train ride lasts approximately 75 minutes, so wear your patriotic best, sunglasses and a smile, and bring the whole family! Visit the food vendors on campus for a patriotic picnic lunch at the tables on the museum grounds.

Are you an avid Personal Watercraft (PWC) rider, or do you know someone who is? If you are interested in spending eight days cruising 600 miles on the Tennessee River and raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, then this is the place for you! To find out what the Tennessee River 600 is really all about (and no, it is not a race), check out our About Us page. If you don’t have enough time in your schedule to join us for the entire trip, check out our 2011 itinerary (we will have the 2012 itinerary available as the event gets closer) and consider joining us for just a day or two. Hopefully, we’ll see you on the water!
