Their compact size allows them to fit in the tightest locations and they do not require the installation of a float switch. The pump motor looks for water by cycling every 2 1/2 minutes. If the electronic sensors detect resistance in the impellor (water), they will continue to pump until all of the water is evacuated. Once the water has been pumped from the bilge, the pump returns to its normal cycle. The integrated strainer also serves as a mount for the pump for a quick installation and makes cleaning the pump simple.
